Boseong, the best place for green tea farming in Korea, produces 37% of the entire tea production in the nation. Boseong green tea is certified as the “No. 1 Korea Protected Geographical Indication (KPGI)” under the Agricultural Products Quality Control Act, which ensures its excellent quality and reputation. Green tea is rich in vitamin C and is effective in relieving fatigue, preventing heart diseases, and lowering blood pressure, as well as being a strong anti-aging agent. Green tea helps alleviate stress and prevents various adult diseases, while at the same time is effective for a diversity of beauty purposes.

What is the Korea Protected Geographical Indication (KPGI)?

When the characteristics of a processed product produced at a specific location, for example its reputation, quality, etc. are derived from geographic specifics; the government (Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries) assures it quality and protects the product according to the international Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property through KPGI.

Farming Conditions

Boseong’s annual average temperature is 13℃ and it has 1,400mm of annual precipitation, establishing the best conditions for cultivating green tea trees. Oceanic climate meets continental climate here while the developing mists enable the maximization of the special characteristics of green tea from the natural shade that covers the area.
Boseong green tea is cultivated in an eco-friendly manner to fit consumer tastes. It is produced with the world’s best tea processing technology to guarantee its special flavor and aroma. Boseong green tea is a specialty of Boseong County and is produced and processed under certification as Korea’s NO.1 KPGI product.


Boseong green tea is a traditional tea that had been cultivated in this area for a long time. Its special taste and flavor have developed from a natural environment that combines the sea and hills as well as rich soil conditions that derive from the underlying rock formations.
